The Norman Inventory identifies this John to be the son of John Carson and Ruth Ann "Stianna" Norman Tilley. He was the husband of Rebecca Jane Kidd Akers Tilley Casey. The Norman Inventory is consistent with his parents in the 1900 and 1910 US Census. FindAGrave indicates that John's wife was Susie Mae Pigg. John's World War I Draft Registration on 5 Jun 1917 identifies an unnamed wife and mother, so it is unclear who his first wife was. There was a marriage between John A. Tilley and Susie Mae Pigg in 1927. However, John A.'s year of birth is 1900, making him five years younger than John E. and this marriage is 10 years later than the World War I draft registration card. John's World War II draft registration card and the 1940 US Census have Beckie Jane Tilley on it rather than Susie Mae. The 1900 US Census shows John's birth to be Nov 1894, but the dates on his gravestone are used here. The spelling of his middle name is taken from his World War II draft registration card.
